Oh, Missha. How could you do my skin so much wrong? I had so much optimism for this product! Even though I knew of the possibility that it would break me out, I still thought that I should give Missha’s Near Skin Inner Moist Moisturize Emulsion a chance because of all the amazing skin-repairing ingredients in it. Unfortunately, it did break me out. Horribly. And has confirmed to me that I am indeed extremely sensitive to a certain type of carrier oils (and I’m sure I’m not the only one). But for other people this might be their holy grail moisturizer.
So for my first review of 2015, I wanted to go *big* with my most favorite skin care find ever. I’ve only used this product for a week, but I’m so amazed by the results that I couldn’t wait to blog about it. This product is truly unique, and delivers some amazing moisturizing and skin protecting results. So what is this holy grail product that I speak of? It is… *drumroll please*…
The Veiled Beauty Sleeping Mask by Shara Shara! Yup, I never heard about it before I ordered it, either. But when I saw it on en.koreadepart.com and looked up the ingredients, I realized that this product was truly unique. And with the hope that it could be amazing, I ordered it. And sure enough, this product amazed me with crazy immediate results!
I seriously think that this is my best find (so far) in my skin care journey, and I can’t believe that this product is so underrated that I haven’t heard about it before. So let me be the first to yell from the rooftops about how amazing this product is! Read my review, and do your skin a favor by purchasing this product. This is an absolute *must buy* product for every skin type, every age, and I’ll explain why…
Warning: The product that is the subject of this review is NOT food. Do not eat, lick, or taste it, no matter how wonderful it smells and how hungry you are.
I felt the need to warn everyone because every time I use Skinfood Black Sugar Strawberry Mask, I want to lick it out of the jar! It smells like the most delicious strawberry jam, and I love smearing it on my face. This mask makes me hungry for strawberry rhubarb pie, and as a bonus it’s a really gentle exfoliating mask!
I’m not exaggerating when I say I’m probably the pickiest person alive when it comes to foundations, including BB creams. I have incredibly high standards (some would probably say impossibly high) and in the past I’ve mostly dealt with disappointment. Usually because I have a hard time matching my skin color. And when I do find the right color, it causes acne, or doesn’t cover my pores enough, or doesn’t provide enough coverage, or is too thick and looks like a mask. Really, there are so many different reasons why I’ve never been able to find one that I really like, and I’ve returned dozens of bottles and tubes to Sephora over the years.
Despite my previous failures, I haven’t stopped trying to find the perfect foundation. In the last two months alone I’ve bought and tried 3 different foundations, plus dozens of samples. They didn’t make the cut. I don’t even consider it worth my time to review them. But I’m happy to say that I finally found one that I think is worth my time to review and to keep using: Missha M Signature Real Complete BB Cream. It’s not perfect, but it’s pretty damn close! And this product is yet another reason why I *heart* Korean skincare!
I first read about this toner on Kerry’s blog, and I immediately became curious about adding a mild AHA exfoliator to my skincare routine. But there were very few reviews out there on this particular AHA product, so I was a little nervous about trying it. In the end the minimalist ingredients won me over. And I’m so glad to have tried Silk Naturals 8% AHA Toner! I’ve been using this for a month, and overall I’m really satisfied with the results I’ve seen.
As I already talked about in my little “About Me” blurb, I’ve been waging war against hormonal cystic acne since I was 14. I say “waging war” because over the years, I’ve treated my skin like a battlefield, using stronger and stronger medication or anti-acne treatments that would work for a little while, but then end up in super sensitive or dull skin. When it came to skincare in the past, there was never any real “aha” moment where the products felt just right for my skin. I was Goldilocks – If one product wasn’t strong enough, I’d end up with cystic acne. And if a product was too strong, my rosacea would flare up. After almost 20 years of searching, I finally reached an “aha” moment and figured out that my previous approach to my skin was all wrong and finally found a system that feels just right for my skin.
