In a previous post, I gushed about my first Korean skincare *love*: Mizon’s All in One Snail Repair Cream. While this cream worked great for me, I was a little concerned about several acne-inducing ingredients in it, so I decided to switch to Mizon Snail Repair Intensive Ampoule.
Unfortunately, even after using this ampoule for about a month, I didn’t get the same dramatic, visible results, so I made the switch back to my beloved All in One Snail Repair Cream!
If you’ve read my blog on Mizon All in One Snail Repair Cream and Mizon Returning Starfish Cream, you know that I am in love with Mizon’s products and always amazed by their quality. And Mizon Real Soybean Deep Cleansing Oil and Mizon Rice Real Cleansing Foam did not disappoint!
I love the name of this cream because it reminds me of the wonderfully weird and funny Japlish terms on so many Japanese products. I’m sure a lot of products in Korea have the same! Cute name aside, this is a serious moisturizing cream in probably the most beautiful packaging I’ve ever had the pleasure to use. Mizon Returning Starfish Cream is also another example of the amazing quality of Mizon’s products, and why I am now a loyal Mizon user!
Oh, Maracuja Oil, how I love thee! Let me count the ways…
So there are already a lot of reviews out there on Tarte’s Maracuja Oil, but I just want to use this opportunity to gush about the fact that this face oil is ama~~~zing for acne-prone and sensitive skin! So if you’re like me and suffer from skin full of extremes (dryness, rosacea, oiliness and cystic acne) read on about how Tarte Maracuja Oil (aka Passionfruit Oil) is now a crucial part of my daily skincare regime and get yourself some asap!
Out of all the Korean products that I ordered, this toner was the one that I was least sure about. I got this as more of an experiment in how my skin would tolerate low pH products. And because of reasons I’ll explain further, I really didn’t expect to like this product so much. But surprise, surprise, Etude House Wonder Pore Freshner, coupled with my BHA exfoliator has ended up being crucial to balancing my skin out and keep it acne free. I’ve tried both the older version of this toner and the newer version, and I’m happy to say that I love the newer version just as much!
So if you read my previous post on Nature Republic’s Combination Watery Cream, you’re probably surprised that I would give anything else in this line a chance. But, I received a sample of this cream from Korea Depart, and opened the sample with trepidation. I was happily surprised with a slight smell of roses coming from this cream (and not the obnoxious Axe deodorant smell that was in the Combination Watery Cream). So I found someone from Hawaii selling a bottle of Nature Republic Super Aqua Max Moisture Watery Cream on Amazon, and I went for it.
I used to be a huge fan of First Aid Beauty’s products. The Ultra Repair Cream was a good moisturizer and seemed to calm down my sensitive skin, but I recently realized it was also contributing to my acne (due to its inclusion of Stearic Acid, Glyceryl Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate SE, and Cetearyl Alcohol). I got First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Liquid Recovery because the ingredients list was safe, with no acne-triggers, and because my skin was feeling incredibly dry from the change in temperatures. But despite its promise to hydrate, repair stressed skin, and reduce redness, I found that it didn’t really do any of it. At least not enough that made me want to dish out $38 again for an incredibly tiny bottle. I guess I’ve become spoiled from Korean skincare, but I just expect my products to work.
I have heard people mentioning this product for years, but it wasn’t until I read that it was part of Kerry’s daily routine on http://www.skinandtonics.com that I decided to finally give this a try.
And I LOVE Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid! I’ve used it for about 6 weeks, my trial bottle is almost empty, and will definitely be purchasing the full size soon.
This cleansing set was the first time I tried the famous Korean double-cleansing method and I really liked it! Definitely saw an improvement right away with this double-cleansing method. So for those who don’t know, a cleansing oil removes all impurities and makeup, while the foam cleanser cleans the residue and leaves your skin completely grime free! While overall I really liked Skin Food Egg White Pore Cleansing Oil and Skin Food Egg White Pore Foam, I decided to try other cleansers for reasons that I will explain…
Wow, this product’s name is a mouthful. I bought this product because it’s gotten a lot of good reviews, came recommended on http://www.sokoglam.com and was voted best moisturizer by Allure magazine in Korea. Sadly, I was pretty disappointed. I gave Nature Republic Super Aqua Max Combination Watery Cream a good try – used this product for about a week – but finally I couldn’t stand it anymore and had to switch back to my old moisturizer.
